Tuesday of the Fourteenth Week in Ordinary Time

Saint of the day

Saint Odo of Urgell (d.1122)

Saint Odo of Urgell was born into a noble family in Barcelona, Spain. He was a soldier in his early years, but gave his position up when he felt called to religious life. Odo was selected as Bishop of Urgell, and was extremely concerned about the poor. Saint Odo of Urgel is the patron saint of La Seu d'Urgell, Spain.

Reflection

Saint Odo of Urgell is a wonderful example of someone who was open to God's call. Even though he had already established a career as a soldier, Odo gave it up when he heard God's call to a greater ministry. Are you listening for God's call? Will you be open to what you hear?

Prayer

Dear Lord, please help me to be open to your call like Saint Odo was. Help me to realize that you have a special plan for me, and an immense love for me. Through you, I can accomplish anything.
