Saint Mary’s Press Pioneers Brand New Distance-Learning Options for Flexible Learning During COVID-19 Pandemic

WINONA, MINN. (August 20, 2020)—To help Catholic school teachers and parish religious educators plan for an unpredictable year, Saint Mary’s Press in Winona, Minnesota, has developed a brand-new series of flexible eLearning modules to provide a distance learning option for their religious education program: Discover! Finding Faith in Life.

“Inspired by our founder, Saint John Baptist de La Salle, our mission at Saint Mary’s Press is to accompany those who count on us,” says Sara Lawrence, Vice President at Saint Mary’s Press. “When things are uncertain, it’s up to us to help in any way we can, to live our mission to do what’s best for young people.”

The flexible distance learning modules are designed as a complement to the classroom lessons, with 20-minute, self-directed modules that enhance the student’s learning experience from home. These modules consist of exciting new material that works with the existing Discover! program.

These additional distance learning modules are truly interactive, involving young people in their own learning in ways that engage and inspire. They craft a rich and meaningful learning experience that enliven children’s understanding of the faith and help them apply these faith lessons to their lives.

The distance learning modules can be used in any setting, including in-person, remote, or a hybrid model that blends in-person and remote learning. This flexibility guarantees the program will work for whatever the 2020–2021 year brings.

Discover! Finding Faith in Life’s eLearning modules join Saint Mary’s Press’s one-of-a-kind offering of eBooks and eLearning courses, offering a rich and multidimensional experience for young people to bring their faith to life.
