Prayer by a High School Senior

About this article

This prayer, written by a high school senior, asks for God's strength and guidance in times of transition.
Dear God,
As I finish my senior year in high school, watch over me. Be with me as I go out in the real world to find myself. Give me the strength I need to stick with my education and not give up when it gets hard. I can be described as the Proverb, "Like a bird that strays from its nest is one who strays from home" (27:8). It will be hard being away, but you will always be next to me--always. When I am like the bird spreading its wings to fly, you will be the wind beneath me, holding me up. Thank you.
Amen.
