Jesus the Christ

At the center of our faith is a person, Jesus Christ, the source of our hope and our salvation. Jesus the Christ Catechist's Guide contains 10 sessions to help young adolescents know Jesus Christ and to inspire them to follow him.

The core activities form 60-minute sessions and have optional session extensions that make it easy to plan longer sessions. Seven of the sessions connect directly to The Catholic Connections Handbook for Middle Schoolers (Saint Mary's Press, 2009) and cover basic teachings about the Gospels and the life of Christ. Two sessions connect Jesus' teaching to the topics of friends and dealing with difficult times. The concluding session explores the gifts we have to share with others as the Body of Christ and suggests ways to involve parents in the session. The guide also includes an optional project for finding, creating, and presenting a variety of images that depict the various roles and titles of Jesus Christ.
