He first wrote and illustrated The Bible from Scratch in 1987, and since then has produced several other books, ranging from a collection of cartoons, When Clergymen Ruled the Earth, to an introduction to the icons of Eastern Orthodoxy, Windows into Heaven. Simon works as an independent writer, editor, and Web site producer and lives in London.
